One of the most popular music artists in the world, Eminem is a fan of his hometown team, the Detroit Lions. The rapper was seen at the regular season finale of the team against the Minnesota Vikings, alongside Flava Flav and Barry Sanders.

Much like his favorite NFL team, Eminem has cemented a legacy in his own field. In his decades-long career, the rap star, lyricist, actor, and music producer has produced over 59 singles and sold hundreds of millions to his record worldwide.

He was named the King of Hip-Hop by Rolling Stone. According to Spotify's list of the most streamed artists in 2023 so far (as of August 4, 2023), Eminem remained in the top 10 (4.14 billion). Eminem recently appeared as a surprise guest during pop star Ed Sheeran’s show in Detroit.

Eminem was born in St. Joseph, Missouri and he spent his youth moving around Missouri with his single mom Deborah "Debbie" before they settled in Warren, Michigan.

As a child, Eminem was a loner and got bullied frequently at school. During his teenage years, they lived in a predominantly-black neighborhood of Detroit. In his childhood, Eminem dreamt of being a comic book artist, but that changed after he heard his first rap song, Reckless – Featuring Ice-T, after getting the album as a gift from his half-brother Ronnie.

He adopted the rap persona "M&M" (which later turned into Eminem) at 14 and he dropped out of high school at 17. He worked a series of odd jobs while writing songs and freestyling in rap battles around town, which were depicted in his semi-biographical movie, "8 Mile".

Eminem eventually gained recognition and respect in the local Detroit area hip-hop scene and he eventually formed the group D12 and joined Bassmint Productions (renamed to Soul Intent).
