Nigerian singer Innocent 2Baba Idibia's mother, Rose Idibia, has spoken out against his engagement to Natasha Osawaru.
On February 12, 2025, 2baba proposed marriage to the Edo state lawmaker and she accepted his request in a viral video.
However, things took an unexpected turn when the music star’s mother condemned their relationship on social media.

In a video posted on 2baba’s siblings' Instagram page, the singer’s mum, Rose Idibia, called on all mothers in Nigeria to help her beg Natasha Osawaru to ‘free’ her son.
According to her, 2baba acted unnaturally and his recent actions were not his. The singer’s mum then told Natasha to remove the beads from her son’s hand and neck. She stated:
“Good evening Nigerians, my name is Mrs Rose Idibia. This message is for Miss Natasha Osawaru of Edo state: I’m calling on all mothers in Nigeria to help me beg her to free my son. My son is going through a divorce process and he’s clearly not in his right senses now. I know my son, this is not him. Please Natasha, the beads you put on his hand and on his neck, remove them and free him.”

In a chat with Legit.ng, a social media expert, Oluwatobiloba Oluwatoyin, shared his thoughts on the viral video of 2baba's mother calling on his fiancee, Natasha, to free her son. He said:
"I think it has to be a stunt or something because 2Baba is a grown man, he is not underage that they will be looking for him. All they have to do is call his phone. They are just being childish with the situation, which shouldn't be. He is a man that knows what he is doing."
May Edochie's lawyer reacts to 2baba's engagement
Legit.ng earlier reported that Nigerian socialite May Edochie's legal team, the DPA Family Law Clinic, reacted to the romance between singer Innocent ‘2baba’ Idibia and Honorable Natasha Osawaru.
Natasha and 2baba caused a buzz on social media after he announced his plans to marry the lawmaker shortly after he shared that he and his wife of almost 12 years, Annie Idibia, were divorcing.
May Edochie faced a similar situation recently after her husband of many years, Yul Edochie, took another wife, Judy Austin, and welcomed children with the woman, without his wife's knowledge.
